Donβt know why I am late for this weekβs blog but this is kinda becoming a habit now π’
Personal Highlights
My to-do list usage on the computer has decreased quite a lot I find the physical todo list much easier to manage and so
Fitness
Third consistent fittest week ever!
The gym was great, but I struggled with choosing the right weights as a part of me wants to go slow and go small like the philosophy preached by James Clear, but then thereβs another part which wants to lift heavy and challenge my normal π
Learning
- Reading: A bit decreased from last week. I need to read more smh.
- Listening: Finished listening to Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell
The stories in the book were great but not of my type. Most of them were very sad. Actually, all of them were sad and showed us our incredible ability of humans to mess things up when communicating with strangers or trying to understand them.
With that being said, this is a βpsychology bookβ and I liked the research aspect of the book, but this book was more into stories than research, so overall, I would rate it around 3/5.
Optimization and Organization
My laptop usage decreased considerably this week, maybe because all the editing work that I got required me to use my PC, but even then, I kinda feel bad about it because it implies that I am not utilizing my investment to the fullest or like how I had planned it π€
Btw writing this blog on my laptop π because my keyboard is double typing the letters T and N.
Job Update
Kuch jyada tareef kar dea last week π€
Business Updates
Same as last week π
Thoughts on local businesses
Lately, I have been observing a lot irl.
Observing people working/negotiating and trading.
And right off the bat, one thing is very clear none of them follows the Time > Money equation. Sure, they consider it, but it’s down their list.
And it is evident from the way they negotiate. Money is the only factor in peopleβs negotiation, which is a lot different from what the gurus online teach to the privileged kids of the internet.
And as much as I would like to shit on them, I am still on their side.
Because the real world is too gloomy/stagnant.
It would make sense for me to pick up mental models of actual businesses people who I see in the market if I were to be stuck here, but since I have access to the internet, I don’t think it makes sense for me to lose hope and become stagnant like most people doing a job are.
And on the topic of job, I have also been thinking about my motivation then vs now. It is much easier for me now to relax compared to last year around July, that was when I thought of starting Octalancer.
However, a lot of people never really do something on their own because
-
They are comfortable with their job
-
They have the linear career progression mindset where being in a job is what they have given exams for and thus are now happy with this
And IMO, it’s pretty hard to break the job trap and hustle unless there is a crisis or burst of motivation or just getting bored of work.
I don’t know what the conclusion of my thoughts is, like I said I have just been thinking about all these and these were just some of my observations. I will maybe share more on this in the future.

Quote from the weekπ
“The gift of a beginner is fresh eyes.
The longer you’re in a field, the harder it is to perceive new truths. Your mind is biased toward refining what you’re already doing instead of exploring fresh terrain.
Take your expertise and apply it to something new.” - James clear
